Default jig to saw scale blanks

Here is an easy to make jig that will allow you to cut out scale blanks from planed stock. The jig will allow for accurate work without years of practice or the cost of power tools. It is a section of 2X4 with one wide side and one small side made square and flat. There are two magnet holders and magnets on the side. The magnets are right below the surface. The magnets will hold the saw square and allow you to saw. The two screws in the top just have the points barely sticking out on the bottom to provide a nonslip grip. The jig works well with pull style saws. Lee Valley sells the magnets.

The only challenging part is getting two the sides square. You can do it with a hand plane or talk somebody with a jointer into doing it for you. Or find a square table leg or furniture part at the thrift store you can cut up
