Quick/easy stand for finishing scales
I was finishing some scales with CA today and remembered the wire stand that Glen had made. I didn't have the materials at hand to duplicate his, but I did have some jumbo paper clips that I thought might be a good substitute. They worked real well and could probably be made even sturdier by stapling them to a piece of scrap wood. Here's what I did:
1. Jumbo paper clip.
2. Bend the smaller, inside, leg straight up.
3. Bend the outer leg outward 45 degrees.
4. Bend the other leg out 45 degrees to meet (3).
5. Bend two ninety degree angles to prevent the clip from going entirely
through the scale.
6. Make a second stand.
7. Mount the scales using the pre-drilled pin holes and you're ready to go.
