I have done some shockers too, but I had to stare at your before and after for a few minutes.
I like the contrasting pins, don't see that often... Watch out fellow restorers, JimR takes the most difficult jobs and finish smelling like roses...

    Fine work man.

Another well deserved pat on the back. Great job!

Nice overall save there Jim. Esp. like the scale resto - Bakelite can be a challenge to keep in one piece.

What I have wasn't nearly as stained as yours, but I have a Torrey here that I bought from a local antique shop. It had probably been sitting there for a very long time....but was in very fine shape. Maybe it was well cared for, but what was on it seemed to wipe off like butter and leave a gorgeous mirror finish with some slight patina here and there...

Is that what cleaning yours was like? You think maybe there is a little magic in the Torrey steel?

In any case, that is a beautiful job! I really like what you did with the scales, too...bravo!!

    Ben, thanks for your compliments!

You know, it was pretty easy. Like I said, it felt like the razor WANTED to be cleaned up. I wouldn't say it was like butter, but it sure didn't take as much elbow grease as I was expecting...not as much as the B&A I did a while back, which was in better shape.

Mebbe there IS magic in that Worchester steel!

That is a fantastic restore! It's great to see something that looks completely shot come back to life. Great job.
