    Default Pinning Question...

I've tried pinning this razor twice and each time the blade is loose when it is straight out, like a japanese razor. But tight in every other position.

My uneducated guess is i'm geting a little too happy and bending the pins.. ideas?

I have to agree with that patience. Before I even tried first time I took a piece of brass rod, old knackered scales, some washers and kept pining and taking scales apart and pining again and so on. About fifteen times. When I started to be happy with the outcome I went and tried to do my first real razor. It took me 5 times to pin and take it apart before I was happy. But now it shines and my grandad would be proud of the job I did to his razor.

Did you taper your spacer? That alone might fix the problem.

I ended up creating a duplicate brass spacer and doubling up. perfect size now.

Originaly the spacer was not tapered at all. The scales were. But after I squared the holes in scales, thinned and tapered the spacer it was much easier to put it together. Also started to use two thin bolts with washers and nuts. Will have ti get somewhere set with threads equal 1/16 (1.6mm) size rod.

Those videos and a pinning hammer really helped.
