    Default Heat treating purpleheart?

What time and temperature are needed to bring out the color in recently worked purpleheart? It's brownish instead of purple. I could wait for a couple of weeks to let the color come back, but I'd like to try something faster like dry air oven.

    Hi Bruno,

SRP member Fotoguru posted this link about a year ago. Here's the thread - there are some results there.

I "toasted" a set of purpleheart scales in my electric oven for 10 minutes at 400 degrees F., and was very satisfied with the result. Sorry I don't have a picture for you, but I'm nowhere near them now.
