Thanked: 335So what kinds of leather can you get for this power strop? And does it come with your choice of pre-leather linen or canvas belts?
What will they think of next?

I use a similar one all the time. I have a 4x36 belt and 6" disk. They work great.

back when I did metalworking stuff, I used one all the time. As long as the belt tracking mechanism is sound, they are practically bullet-proof.
Also, I would like to be first on your list for some custom scales. FIRST.

Watch your fingers and maybe wear eye protection. Some of those woods can give off lung and skin irritants. You might want a respirator with some of the materials as well. There is a thread on it in the archives. It may be in the Wiki by now. Oh, and have fun.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
