I have a Double Arrow razor, and it is top notch. It is by far the best rope cutter, box opener, wire stripper, and pencil sharpener I have ever owned.

In quality, performance, appearance, and price, I consider the original scales that come with the DA to be a perfect match for the blade.

Yeah, I got a couple of DAs for s*%ts & gigles and they reminded me of the first draft "blades" turned out by my friends taking high school metal shop.

Whoa now people... In their defense, the steel is good. Looks aren't everything.

But that's the thing Dan- I remember reading accounts from experienced people of getting DAs with terrible steel that would not hone up well enough to give a comfortable shave. Maybe you got a less than bad one (remember- no good ones lol).

I DO consider the steel to be OK (I balk at "good"). I'm just saying that I consider the existing scales to be an adequate match for the DA blade.

I guess I consider rescaling them with nice scales to be sort of a waste when there are so many other orphan blades more deserving of joining the family of the re-scaled.
