I love the Paua/Abalone shell family. It's always stellar looking. My best sellers.

I ended up leaving the original scales on the Greaves, any one know the date on that razor?

Very nice. I've done a few sets of scales out of various woods. I want to do my next out of an acrylic or some other interesting material.

    GREAT WORK.

Damn ! I was gonna ask if I could have the old scales
Nice work on the acrylic/paua btw.
Someone may have a more accurate date but pre 1890 if no England stamp.

Huzzah! Yours is a little younger than mine. You can barely make it out in that picture, but all mine says is: WFGREAVES&SONS SHEAFWORKS

The way it's been explained in the past is that due to trade agreements, all potential exports BEFORE 1890 weren't required to be stamped with "ENGLAND" in the location. For instance, it would just say: "WFGREAVE&SONS, SHEAFWORKS, SHEFFIELD" if it were pre-1890. After 1890 trade agreements, it was required to say "SHEFFIELD, ENGLAND".

However, mine doesn't even say Sheffield, which makes me think it's even older. Possibly 1850's??? Gorgeous blades.
