Default Mirror finish at a chrome shop

Hi there, I wanted to know if you all thought this was a good idea. I really don't know how much any of the professional restorers here charge to put a mirror finish on 2 blades that have been already handsanded.

I was looking for a way to finish off 2 blades I have been working on, and I found a chrome shop about a 10 minute drive from my house. They have a buffing wheel and compound (I do not and I can't get one because I live in an apt.). they don't have any cr ox compound but they have white compound. I am assuming it is white rouge. Should I pursue this or is too risky since they probably have never worked with blades...

Just my two cents but I've read of horror stories of anyone not familiar with STR8's working on them, i.e. sharpening, polishing, etc. As I dare not try this myself for fear of losing a number of vital body parts, I look to members here that are not only qualified but are passionate about their work and the jobs they do. I would recommned checking out the gallery section to view some of their work. Most can be found in the classifieds as well if I'm not mistaken. I can speak from experience that the cost is minimal as the razors I have had done look showroom new and are set for a number of years to come.

    Good luck

    Joe

Thxs joeman... That does make a lot of sense. I am going to send them out to a SRP veteran that really knows what they are doing. I am absolutely amazed by some of the restoration jobs that are posted in the gallery!
