Thanked: 586New Scales on One of My Knives
I love this knife. It is a Pro-Tech Godfather:
But I find the white micarta scales are boring. As I do with alot of my world, I decided to make it mine. I made new scales of spalted apple inlaid with turquoise:
I am thrilled with the new look!
Now I know what material the next razor I refurbish will get for scales. When I do that razor, I will share every step of my inlay process. I use it in sculptures, turnings and furniture with much success.

Nice scales.... but that point looks as dangerous as a loaded pistol.

You're a gutsy guy to take an expensive knife like that and take it apart to replace the scales. Great job BTW. I had never heard of the Godfather knife and now I want one. I would probably go for the Godson with the 3.25 blade length though. Here is a little promo I ran into for anyone wanting more info on the knife.

If you do nothing else, get the catalog of Pro-Tech. Look at the steels they use for some of the blades:ProTech Knives - Custom Godfather

Oh gee!!! it's a switch blade. Banned in most places... but then so are many useful things.
