Default $7.50? I think so. Ebay razor restore

Just finishing up my first razor restore. Naturally I had to grab another one. Can't have free time away from beautiful razors now can we? I saw this razor for 7.50 with free shipping and couldn't resist! I think I will change it from spike to rounded. This should save as much metal as possible. Sound like a good plan?

Round point, French point and even square point. That could end up being a nice restore. Hopefully the scales are in great condition too. Keep us posted and don't forget to post pics

    It'll keep you busy.

    Well done! looks good.

I think the scales look cracked at the pivot. But should come up trumps.

Good on ya mate. Look forward to the pics

I can see where that might be true. The pics are kinda fuzzy though and he said there were no cracks. But I think we all know how "No Cracks or Chips" can really mean "I Want You to Think There Are No Cracks Or Chips!" Oh well, we'll see now wont we Fingers crossed. Like you said, should be a great razor. It is Solingen after all

Cracked Blade + Cracked Scales = 0.00 on my bids....

There are some razors without that damage, with unknown names for less that $7.50

Good look with your hard work...

It's not cracked, it's chipped. The location of the chip is such that it can be easily repaired. The scales are not definitely cracked, but I will find out as soon as it arrives. If it is, oh well. Should still be a great shaver. If I really wanted to I could return it if it was cracked as the seller offered a money back guarantee, but I will again judge that once I see it for myself. All in all, 7.50 is a great price for this razor in good shape.
