Filarmonica blank pics (before grinding)
It isn't mine, but when I came across this Filarmonica blank in a display last week, I thought some of you might find this interesting, and the owner kindly allowed me to take it out and quickly take some pics:

Very cool. Thanks for posting that. I know others that will be interested in seeing that as well. I assume that blank was stamped rather than forged.

Very cool photos. Thanks for sharing them. It is neat to have a way to see these otherwise hidden treasures.
On a related topic, it makes me wonder if there is a warehouse or basement storage room filled with many more of these unground Filly blanks somewhere, and that we may someday see NOS Fillys available?
Sort of like the NOS Henckels Friodur spanish points many of us have.

I'd hate to own that! What would you do? It's a little piece of history as it is, but you could have a Filly ground just for you! It'd drive me crazy.

Very interesting, thank you. Any of us that have done any work with restoration or razors or metal work in general can appreciate the work involved to bring those babies to market.

Was it shave ready?
That is a great find. Hopefully a skilled grinder can find the gem under that rough exterior.
Thanks for the pics
