Thanked: 45W&B Potential Restoration Project (pic heavy)
I picked this up at a local yard sale. Other than it being a Wade and Butcher, I don't know anything about it. Can anyone offer other details? Clearly the blade needs cleaning / honing, and I need replacement scales. Any views on a ballpark estimate of getting this restored? I just want plain black scales to replicate the original look. There are no nicks in the blade, just spots / pitting as you can see. I don't need a mirror finish, just something presentable and shave ready.
Thanks.

Without too much inspection, looks to be in pretty decent shape, especially for the price you paid. There are a number of guys on here who restore blades including scales. I'm sure one of them will be able to give you better information than I but again, nice looking find for the price!
Enjoy,
Joe

The first thing I'd do is have someone hone it up. There is some pitting near the edge, and it would be a shame to spend time and money on something that isn't going to have good steel at the edge. Other than that, I've seen worse blades come out looking near perfect, and wb's are sweet shavers.
