If the razor belonged to your grandfather, I'd be tempted to just clean it up and leave it alone as is, just for sentimental reasons.

Default Correction - Great grandfather's razors!

Just found out my 2 razors (inc. this one) were my great grandfather's razors on my mother's side. (He was born late 19th C in Ballarat Australia, died in 1968).

Apparently there were originally 6 of his razors, but one of my uncle's mates 'borrowed' them with anyone knowing and succeded in breaking 4 of them (doing who knows what) before they were rescued.

My 2 razors are both Cadman and Sons Bengalls (one is made for Melbourne, Australia).

Nice to have a connection with an ancestor (he died a few years before I was born).

    All the best,
    Michael.
