Default Can't get rust off old blade

I don't have a dremmel, so I had to use a q-tip and metal glo polishing paste to remove what I could. What do I do? Steel pads? they aren't working either.

Wet/dry sandpaper. Go to the workshop forum and do a search for rust or to the SRP Wiki and look at restoring razors here.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

It seems you already tried something so we can assume it's not surface rust.

For starters pictures would help to get an overall idea of the blade's condition.

If you don't have a dremel or power tools you'll have to decide if you want to use some elbow grease and time sanding down the blade as to remove as much as is possible.
Here's a quick introduction to hand sanding from our own SRP WIKI

Whatever you decide it's extremely important when sanding to remove all the scratches incurred from the previous grit before moving up to the next grit level. Don't skip and be impatient. It's a long process but rewarding once done properly.

    Keep us updated.

Hours and hours of finger aching joint cramping sanding....

Now there other ways of doing it but they are normally not cost effective unless you already have a working shop...

As I now see my cohort Max has already posted
