Default new album posted:we all like pictures

The crew here at OCD Razors(me) working out of the world class OCD workshop(my garage) have just completed another batch of razors.

I have posted the new album along side the original. They can be found on my member profile boballman or under the community tab, then photos and albums. Too many photos to post here.

All of my razors are from 1095 high carbon steel and run in the 8/8ths range. Once in a while, I will make a 6/8 or 7/8. For the most part they are full hollow grind. Check out the one photo with the end-on view. My scales are from exotic woods, animal, and man made materials(you know, the usual stuff). O course they are all hand ground and are all one of a kind.

I would like to thank Papa Bull for some great advice he gave me way back when.

    Thanks for looking
    Bob

Those are some gorgeous razors. I especially like the wee hippos on the hippo ivory scales. Do you do custom orders or are these all for your own use?

You've done some very nice work with the designs; very unique. I like the swayed backs; do you do any with smiling edges to match?

    Default Amazing

About 6 months ago Bob offered to help me hone some razors. He asked me to bring them by and he will teach me how to hone razors. When I got there he had this garage full of tools to do metal work and wood work. He asked me if I would be interested in making a razor, what could I say but yes. We wound up making 10 razors and he offered a couple of them to be mine and made the way I wanted them. So he cut me loose on design and scales and pretty much everything. I pretty much have learned how to make these razors from the start to the end. It gives you a great respect for those doing this kind of work. It's not easy.

I will put up a few pictures of the two razors we built when my wife gets back with the camera. I think they are beautiful. Another bonus is they are proving to shave as good or better than any of my Friodur's, Dovo's or Puma razors.

I really like your work, you have your own style. Your grinding, fit and finsh all look great.

haven't made any smiling edges yet....at least on purpose.

The cat knocked one off the table and made a snaggletooth jack-o-lantern smile....not a good shaver

Moral of the story: sell the cat.

Maybe one day when I win the lottery I'll buy myself a bunch of custom razors from members here. I'll start designs immediately...

I love the cat, but sometimes.......

Yes, for the most part I use brass or aluminum depending on the scales and sometimes I use scraps of other materials to achieve a certain effect.

I do make a limited number of custom order razors. The limiting factor being the size of my staff(1). I have a regular job and do this as a hobby. I usually make 2-4 razors a month. They would sell for about $150-$300 depending on file work and scale material. If you are interested pm me.
