Thanked: 1Rescaling?
I recently purchased a beautiful 7/8" Wade & Butcher notch point razor off the classifieds here. The razor has some pitting. My main concern is that the razor does not center in the scales and hits the edge while it's closing unless I compensate for it. Will it have to be completely rescaled to fix this problem? Also, how can I remove the pitting?

You said you bought it from the classifieds. So it must have been disclosed that the blade didn't center and close properly. It should be fixable one way or another. As to how that will depend to the why?
As the G man said......PICS... would help.
PS: is the blade loose or tight at the pivot?

It may be possible to remedy without removing the blade from scales. Let's have those photo's.

I world tend to agree... the first two look like the photo was dropped in a fish tank... you may want to hold the camera a bit further away or switch on the camera's "macro" function (the button that looks like a flower).
