    Default Bevel angles?

What is the standard bevel angle (included angle, surface to surface)? Or what is the range of "acceptable" shaving bevels? If there is a range, is there a difference, like, a trade off between smooth/sharp/durable?

    you are sooo mistaken!

everybody knows it's 17, it's a prime number. The first choice, of course, was pi, but they didn't have the technology to find the 666th digit of pi back then, so they settled for something simpler....

I think it is more of a range than a specific angle something like 18 +-2 or maybe even 3.

Type of steel, heat treatment, type of hair, grind, was it made at beerthirty on Friday there are too many variables to have a perfect angle.

    17 what a pretty number
