    I would try it...but I don't have any coke here I certainly have some straight razors I wouldnt care about...hehe

    I've done it- there's no instant results. It's not a magic rust remover. I've even left blades in Coke overnight and still had to sand significant amounts of rust off. The couple times that I did it I started with a few minutes, then a half hour, then ... eventually up to overnight. It was a really rusty blade I was restoring, and I don't think it was worth the time.

    Since the blade was in there so long, it became significantly discolored as well. On a restore with lots of sanding to do, this didn't matter, however I probably wouldn't do it again.

    Hi,

    I seem to remember Coca-cola used to contain phosphoric acid, which was the element responsible for its 'famed' metal cleaning properties.

    Whether the current formulation contains phosphoric acid I couldn't say; my lab days are behind me !
