Thanked: 586Leather Preservation Question
I have a leather sheath for a knife that has a mouldy smell. Has anyone any tips on how to kill the mould in a leather object such as a sheath or holster?
Thanks,
Brad

Leather soap will get rid of the smell and mould and will make it look close to new again. Follow up with a good leather polish or wax.
If the mould isn't to severe you could also first try a cloth dampened with diluted alcohol (eg. 1 cup rubbing alcohol in 1 cup of water) and wipe the surface that is covered with mildew. Let dry in an air current. Follow up with leather polish or wax.Last edited by Maximilian; 08-04-2009 at 02:25 PM.
