Nice work, a level of skill one step beyond in designing, making your scale material, making your scales, and sanding and polishing your razor. Very impressive

You said in your original post that you pressed the resin and cloth. How was this accomplished?

I used wood clamps for the layup of the Micarta.

But rather than go piecemeal into the various technical aspects of how I made the Micarta, I think I shall put together a properly illustrated article about it in the very near future.

It has been covered on some other web sites (which is where I learned), but I have some extra tips that might prove useful.

The scales look great, and it awesome that you made them from scratch.

Great work. They look fantastic. Love the color.

I'm a big fan of Micarta. I've got quite a few razors made with it. One made with denim.

Awesome! I read about making micarta on a couple of other sites, and I had toyed with the idea but never went through with it. Hat's off to a job well done!

That's really amazing work considering all that went into it. I love the finished color of that micarta, I can see where it is really something you can't be sure of till you're done, the color was so bright in the original cloth. I for one prefer the after color though. The work is impressive. I can't wait to read the write up on how you made the micarta.
