Excellent article! Thanks so much for taking the time to put this together!

I'm very inspired to give this a try now I have such a fantastic load of information. I just have to convince my other half to let me fill the house up with clamps, expoxy and rolls cloth..!

Definately the most interesting thing I`m going to read at work today..!

Very informative...interesting and ingenious to say the least. I've been considering doing this with an experimental restoration. Here's my thinking...since materials are often difficult to come by out here in the sandbox, as would be the clamps and the press stones, my thinking is to sacrifice a set of new weightlifting straps that I haven't even opened...I can get these any time when I order my supplements online. I could take a couple of 100lb dumb bells and improvise the clamps with some plywood or old pieces of treadmill decks as spacers. My logic is that even if the pressing/clamping is less than perfect, the single thickness of material shouldn't get too far out of dimension. My concern is finding a vendor and getting the epoxy sent out. I'm not very worried about any discoloration per se since this material is a vanilla/khaki colored THICK canvas...I know what it looks like wet as I wash my straps once they get dity and/or smelly. The blade I would be using is an 8/8 (I think) Wade and Butcher smiley faced blade that is itching for and edge and some scales. The old scales got busted when it fell out of my old shave bag and got run over. Wonderful thing though is that someone found it and turned it in to one of the offices here and one of the staff members suspected it might be mine as I might very well be the only one on camp using a str8 to shave with. A few folks have seen me in the latrine shaving and the guy who turned it in suspected it was mine. Talk about bumming until I got it back. Anyway...I got it back (all busted up) and want to fix it. I'll probably keep the lead wedge to keep the counterbalance effect to the heavy blade. So...any thoughts or ideas are appreciated. Thanks.
