I need a tumbler....
I have a couple (3) of blades that I recently purchased that were in bad shape. I sanded them to remove all bad damage, so they are in acceptable condition now (600 grit). Before I throw scales on them, I want to get that mirror finish without further sanding-600 grit was the finest I could find at the local hardware store.
I read the thread about the vibratory tumbler method. The problem is, I'm going back to school in a week, so i'm broke and I'm worried my roommates won't appreciate the loud tumbling for days straight
So I propose the following for those of you are using a tumbler. I send you my three blades to put in your tumbler, along with some money for your troubles.
Please PM me if you can help. Thanks ahead of time.

You can find finer grits at auto parts stores. Wet & dry up to 1,000 or better. Sorry I can't help with the tumbler.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Steel wool, or synthetic steel wool, are also pretty good options if the tumbler doesn't work out.

For the price of shipping you can probably find some higher grit paper 1500 or 2000, 000 steel wool and metal polish you should be good to go!

Thanked: 127I found the best place to get the finer grits of 3m wet or dry is at our local PPG paint store. They handle automotive paint products, and carrie from 220 thru 2000 grits. The lower grits are found at Home Depot.
