Default repairing broken buffalo horn scales

    Hi everyone.
I just bought an old Wade and Butch with horn scales. One of the scales is broken in two. The two pieces meet neetly and so I'm planning on joining them with some epoxy glue. But before I do that I have the whole razor, scales and all, soaking in mineral oil. I figured the scales could do with some rejuvination before I glue them back together.
What I want to know is, has anyone else done this? Am I on the right track?
I'll upload some photos as soon as I'm able.
By the way, I love this new blade. Its so heavy.

I would not soak it in oil before trying to glue it. I would glue it together see if it holds then work on restoring the horn, any oil would interfere with the glue. If it is black horn that you cannot see through you add some little pins to reinforce the broken joint.
