Thanked: 20Need Suggestions
I picked up a W&B 5/8, cleaned it up, took it to the polishing wheel and am now stuck choosing what scales to go with.
Choices:
1. Black Water Buffalo Horn
2. Leopard Wood
3. Curly Nara
4. Olive Wood
6. Cocobolo
7. Camphor Burl
8. Red Wood Burl
9. Blood red mirrored acrylic
Thank you all.

Go for 1. IMO they look best on W & Bs, escpecially if they have figuring.

You have a picture of your W&B?
Is it a wedge? hollow? barbers notch? ...
I've rescaled them in different materials.

Thanked: 20Here it is in between sanding (800 Grit). BTW, I picked this little guy up for $9.95 because it was covered in rust and missing a scale. (gotta love local shops)

Thanked: 1903It's a Bow. Great razor. The originals scales were something light, right? How about blonde horn? I would absolutely not put wooden scales on that razor.

Thanked: 20It sure did have something light. I was thinking of maybe ordering a sheet of Mica Pearl but then horn does sound pretty tempting.

Thanked: 20In case anyone is interested, I ended up going with Black Water Buffalo scales. I left some blemishes to pay an homage to the original handle.

Very nice Mike!
I love the feel of bone scales so smooth and the complement the razor well.
