    Default Source for acrylic scales?

For you guys out there using acrylic in your restoration jobs....what is your source for the scales? I've hunted around and can only find a ready source of 5" acrylic pen blanks...is this what you're using?

    TIA

Normally I buy 3 mm sheets and cut them out.
They just come in pain color though.

The pen blanks are much nicer but you need a good saw for them.

FWIT, I picked up an acrylic clipboard in a nice shade of dark blue at Target recently to make some scales from. Only $1.99 and seems to be just the right thickness. I made some practice scales from it and it worked fine.

I've spent the better part of a day looking through the masecraft site and still have yet to find something over 5"... The scales on my resto pieces are 5.5"

They have the 6 inch but you have to cut them

    Monster 1 x 6 Inch Acrylic Blanks

The other thing is to get yer butt on the phone and call the plastics companies around you, and try sign shops too, and beg like crazy for 12x12x1/8 sheets...

Just found this thread, as I was looking for a place to get acrylic sheets for scales.

Here's one site I turned up in a google search!

    Delvie's Plastics Inc.: Transparent Plexiglass
