Default Best way to remove oil on straight razor

What is the best way to remove oil from a straight razor? I know you're supposed to rinse it with warm water, but what do I do after? Do I use a washcloth? What direction do I wipe it? Length wise or height wise?

    Thanks!

I use a washcloth. Don't touch the edge.

I'm not supposed to touch the edge? I was told I could. How am I supposed to get the oil off the cutting edge and dry it when i'm done shaving?

Dry the blade from the spine - side. not the edge side...

Kind of like when you are stropping (but not quite).

So in other words, start from the spine and work your way down to the blade?

Yes, Sir. That's one way to do it.

Just don't use too much chillie that would cause razor burn.

I was wondering. Would running a washcloth from the spine down to the edge of the blade bend the blade? I don't know how much it takes for the blade to bend.
