U asked if the blade could bend, not the edge. So you can see why I agreed with Max.
I wouldnt ask questions such as how to remove oil from a blade, as its common sense, the same as wiping a blade after use. And had I received legible answers as you did, I wouldnt ask about blowing it! U wana ask about blowing things and youre on the wrong forum!
Its not such a stupid question as Alex pointed out, however you repeatedly asking the same question when u asked a such simple question and got an array of answers and proceeded to ask about 'blowing' it instead; coupled with the Moderator's comment makes me question your competency.
As for stainless steel knives being harder than carbon steel razors - I disagree. Steak knives are probably more likely to bend than a carbon steel razor, as they do not receive the same heat treatment as razors. IF you were talking about bending the blade rather than the edge.
So if you wish to remove oil from a blade, simply wipe it along the spine just before the edge from shank to toe. Its as simple as that. Im amazed you managed to apply oil in the first place, as its the same thing in reverseLast edited by Scipio; 09-17-2009 at 10:19 PM.

Thanked: 13245In as a Mod here not just answering a question....
Gentlemen let's drop this one OK???
The OP has plenty of actual suggestions as to how to wipe the edge correctly..
To the OP perhaps you should have asked the real question you were after in the first place which was how you dulled the blade... The answer was given that it was most likely the Stropping which is quite common really it is...
I also noticed that you have been offered several opportunities in your other threads from several people to re-hone said edge for free I hope you take them up on it...Last edited by gssixgun; 09-17-2009 at 10:36 PM.

Thanked: 3I understand. The reason i'm asking this question in the first place is because my old razor dulled before I even used it. I thought it had to do with my application of the oil. I now realize it was my poor strop work that caused the dull blade. I tend to complicate things, so I stop and think about it in a very basic way, and it works.
