I have used a regular spoon to great effect. Just tap the pivot pin a few times with a spoon until it is tight. keep the obverse side on a hard surface or it wont work.

I really hate to have that condition. As JMS said tightening the pivot pin is the way to go but use caution. IOW, tap and try because if the scales are of a delicate material and they are tight with the razor open tightening with the razor in the closed position may make them tight enough when opened to crack celluoid or a similar material.

I have a Wonderedge with that problem and I am afraid to tighten it because if the scales crack at the pivot pin there went 3/4 of the value.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

This is unfortunate, but I believe it is caused by a bent pivot pin.
In almost every case when I open the pivot, the pin is bent.
