"Ghost" Imp
Picked up a triple pinned Red Imp on the bay that needed some love. Has some pitting still but I really did not want to sand on the blade any more than I had to. The scales sadly were broken on one sde so I decided to try something I have been really wanting to do after seeing Max use it a couple time, Jade Ghost G10. The scales are pretty much a direct copy of the factory scales, simple and clean. Still needs pinned(will be all nickle) and honed, I will add the finished pics hopefuly soon. I'm going to try to get it together tomorrow. Not looking to bad for not having access to my normal tools . I really need to start taking "before" pics.......
The only good scale left and the Imp after cleaning.
The Imp and it's new scales in Jade Ghost G10
Close look at the scales
The pics dont due this G10 any justice, this stuff looks unreal!! I'll update this as soon as the "Ghost" Imp is all together. I've got the holes drilled in the scales and mocked the whole thing up. It all looks great.....or atleast I think so . Now back to the Shiner .

Too bad about the leftover pitting but you got lovely scales to compensate
Glad to see you got it sorted out with the Jade.
Don't worry about forgetting the pre pics. We all do.Last edited by Maximilian; 09-26-2009 at 08:03 PM. Reason: typo

The sad thing is all I have down here were we are working to work on the G10 was a coupe hacksaw blades, an adjustable speed bench grinded with a soft grinding wheel, and a LOT of sandpaper! There is enough left of the G10 left to do a set of scales for sbrouwers new 8/8 Henckels when it gets here and maybe my Wapi . It would have been nice to get all the pitting out of the blade but man is that thing thin! Lets just hope the Imp shaves like a hot knife through butter and it will all be good. Not bad for only my 3rd set of scales .

I have to thank Max for using the Ghost Jade on a couple of his projects and showing us all how good the stuff looks. If not for Max, I probably would have never even heard of the stuff. THANKS MAX!!!

*cough* Max, you sure you used both of those before a certain someone else?? I'm pretty sure you didn't I did one set of the Paua acrylic before I realized how much I liked the 100% Paua better, then made that comment when you used the paua acrylic for the first time... remember that? lol (sorry, I just had to post this )
Regardless, nice scales so far!
