well Im not sure. I looked the edge over quite a bit but I really dont know what Im looking for. I didnt see any noticable chips or marks. I saw a little mark on there but nothing chipped. the mark looked like a smudge. Im going to look it over again. I dont have a magnafying glass so like I said, I didnt see anything noticably wrong.

If the razor was in closed position when it fell changes of anything happening to the edge are pretty much non existant.

The only real damage might be your scales or a looser pivot pin.

Again, if you dont see anything you are probably safe. Double check the opening and closing and see if the blade centers nicely without touching the sides of the scales.

Angle the blade so light reflects off the edge, under a lamp or at a sunny window. If you see a break in the thin bright line you might have an issue. Before you wipe the blade off and make sure it's not a tiny piece of lint or a water stain.

    Edge will appear as such:

Well ok...not exactly but you get the idea.

You are probably good to go. If you can't see a chip or crack.

I have gotten so that I use a rug under my feet in front of the sink and under my strop. It has saved me more than once when I was starting out. I also have a towel next to the sink to lay the razor down between passes, kinda a "safe" zone. Started doing this when I lost my first razor, 1/4" crack in the blade. It has served me well.

    Take Care,
    Richard
