    Default w.h. Morley & sons

I received a straightrazor from my wifes grandfather that is a w.h. morley & sons razor. He still had the box that it was in too. It says germany on it. does anyone know anything about them and how i can get it restored. It still has a really good blade on it, just a lot of rust.

    Sorry, guys. Im trying too.

Morleys are great shavers, I have a few restored in my collection.
Can be easily restored but you may want to send it out to a professional as you may consider it a family heirloom.

I don't toot my own horn often, but your razor brought back some memories... Here is a thread of one I restored many moons ago.

I have a Morley as well and love it. Since yours is an heirloom I'd strongly suggest sending it out to a pro for restoration. Check out the member services area. When contacting them, just let them know that it's an heirloom when discussing how original you'd like to keep it (or not).

It was hard work sending out my Morley to Max (Maximilian) for restoration.

I have one like yours, and it shaves nicely. Get it restored professionally, and you'll hopefully have a nice shaver, if the rust permits.

Morley's are very good shaving razors. I have several in the rotation. The steel is extraordinaryly hard. They take longer to hone but hold an edge for a very long time. The blades are also magnetized. That rust does not look to bad.I would not worry about getting every divot out of the blade, just a good clean-up and polish it out.

I have one of these that I picked up on ebay. I know they are old, but does anyone know when they were produced?

I love my Morley's. I just sent two to Glen (gssixgun) to be honed actually. I think they are quite under rated as far as price to quality ratio is concerned.
I'm a sucker for a stamped tail. Giggity.
