I am a college student at Clemson University in South Carolina. I am also very interested in at least trying to make my own scales. Here the trouble begins. While my dad is a mechanic and longtime hobbyist with an incredible array of tools, he lives in Indiana. I won't be home until just before Christmas.

So I called today about having a little father son bonding time over break (basically me playing about with his saws, dremel, and ball peen hammers in an attempt to make something resembling scales). Looks like it's a deal and I can get to work as soon as I get home from the airport.

I know this is early, but I just had to share the news because I am super excited about the prospect, and this is the only place where people can really understand why I would be so excited to do hard labor in an attempt to spruce up "outdated" technology.

I will be sure to post pics in a new thread with my results (and likely more than one trial and error set just because I have no pride )
