Razor shattered while making handle
Well, I had just finished making new scales for an Elite Cutlery Barber's Friend blade. Purpleheart with an Ironwood wedge. I was polishing the handle - had the blade wrapped in a cardboard sleeve to protect myself - and when I unwrapped it here's what I found.
So, I guess I'll be in the market for another blade.
Here's the whole piece before it broke.

Thanked: 190I am sorry to hear about this. I am sure there will be other straights worthy of your fine scales.

Thanked: 127Yikes! What a surprise that must have been. Those scales will look great on another razor though. Nice work.

Ouch, bad piece of luck there. Hope the next resto goes more smoothly.

Well that sucks. Are you going to chuck the blade or try to salvage it?

It's a full hollow ground so I doubt I could salvage it. And it's probably cheaper to buy another blade than to pay someone.
