    Default Loose Razor

Hi Guys, I was hoping for a little advice.

I have a razor that has been very nicely restored and scaled but it is a little loose in the scales, for example, if I pick it up by the spine the scales will drop down. Now the blade doesn't wobble or anything like that - but nonetheless I'd like the fit to be a little more snug.

Is there anything I can do or does anyone have any advice?

    Cheers,

    Rob

Give it a few taps on either side of the pin with a tablespoon. That should tighten it up nicely. Alternately a tap or two with a 4 or 8 oz hammer will do the trick.

Make sure that there is something solid under the razor when you attempt to tighten the pin. The simplest is to get a regular hammer and lay it down on a flat surface. Place the pin that needs tightening on top of the hammer head. Then gently tap the pin that needs tightening with a tablespoon. Give it 10 - 20 light wacks. Check the pivot. If you need more, flip the razor so that you are wacking the other side of the pin and hit it for another 10 - 20. Repeat as needed.
