    Default DD Goldedge Re-Scale

Well I picked up this 6/8's spike point Goldedge for pretty cheap and it was in pretty good shape, very little hone wear, some light surface rust, and some light pitting. Once again I forget to take some "before" pics so this is the blade after some cleaning. Sadly the beautiful factory scales were broken so I had to do something about that....

Now my brother(sbrouwers) kept telling me "pull that brass" so I decided to grab some Jade Ghost G10 and some acetone. It's not done yet but here are some teaser pics....

More to come.....back to the Shiner.....

I had not seen this combo done yet Max so I had to give it a shot. And yes the Jade Ghost is you friend . I had fun with that brass, paper thin stuff, I almost glued my self to the scales placing it. Now...do I have enough Jade left for my big R.C.Allman blade . BTW guys, this is my 4th set of scales.

I told him to pull the brass off the old scales and hells ya look at what we got now!!! They do look great on that Ghost Jade (man I like that stuff I got a Henkels I think is about to get the Ghost Jade treatment) I can't wait for this set to dry so I can pin them up so you guys can see this set done

Cool; reminds me of the clear SatinEdge scales.

Looks real good Phill, It shows that you took your time for a good fit. That thin trim has to be hard to work with. Can't wait to see the end results!!!

So how many of you have noticed that I put the bolsters on backwards. It's funny though, the curve in the Goldedge bolster actually fits the curve of the scale better this way and when you open the razor the writing on the brass and the tang line up.......oh well. Steph is honing it right now and I'll post some pics after the test shave.

Well, got it together today and honed, will have to wait for the first shave. Didn't get all the light pitting out of the blade. Not my best pics, snapped them kinda quick with bad lighting......

The pitting is actually not as bad as it looks like in the pictures.
It's not perfect but hey, I know where the flaws are and you don't(aside from the upside down bolsters) . Now, back to the stout .
