    This is one of those thing that really make this forum SO good, you just would not find this anywhere out there and its such a simple thing to do but none of us had thought of it.

    You could try wrapping a rubber band around the skinny part and use it to hold the loose end of the sandpaper in place instead holding it down with your finger/thumb.

    I tried that but it has to be removed to pull the sand paper backward to get to a new place. Holding it with the index finger is a natural motion since you have to grip the gun anyway. Keep thinking though. Thanks Mack
