Thanked: 9Great New Sanding Find!
So it has been a while since I've posted on the forum, been working on restoring a motorcycle and a few razors. My last time at PepBoys I saw a Gator Sanding Sponge at 120 Grit for a few bucks and thought it might be good for a first step razor sanding.
I tried it out on an EBRO I've been working on for a while and I gotta say, it's INCREDIBLE!!! I'd say an hour with this sanding sponge is equivalent to about 6 with my hand sanding with 120 Norton sandpaper. I just put it on my desk and rub the razor on it.
Long story short, Gator Sanding Sponge = AWESOME!
They last forever and are easy to work with!
PS- I'll get some photos up of the razors when I'm done, just don't hold your breath...

Great idea. A local paint store had some sanding sponges on clearance for 50c a piece. I'm going to go pick up a few and give it a try.
I wrapped the foam block that came with my micromesh kit with some 180grit sandpaper and that worked pretty well also.
