Got some time to play this weekend and thought I'd post a pic up this morning. Hopefully I'll get some time later today or tomorrow and get to the engraving. :)
Santa brought my new beltsander this weekend, so I'll be able to get a much smoother wedge for this set. :y
Wow!!! they are looking great, I cant wait to see the finished product.
Congrats on the new belt sander.:beer1:
Cannot wait to see a blade in those scales.
Very very impressive,Nice!!!
would'nt a set of scales shaped like Santa's Sleigh be cool? Thanks for stiring the imagination and keep up the wonderful work!!!!
Truly a work of art. These are impressive -- and I've been around long enough to where I'm not easily impressed. Great job.
Subscribing! Truly impressive work!
I think the next step is to mount it on different backpieces.
I have nowhere near the experience or talent of Shutterbug, but I have all the tools to try this. Just need to come up with a design
The backplate is actually the backing of the leaves and berries. I'm leaving this set open to see how well the open scales work for balancing with the blade. :)
The second scale is in the hotbox curing out. I changed my mind and decided to do brass applique with the pins. The wedge end applique is tacked on with three flush rivits. The piviot applique will act as an outerwasher for the piviot pin. Here's a pic for today before I run away for lunch.:beer2:
