Thanked: 3Crack at the heel
Hey guys,
This is a practice blade for me that we got real cheap. I was wanting to clean it up a bit, but I am concerned for the heel due to a crack in the blade. I am aware that I will probably end up snapping the heel off while cleaning the blade, but is there anything I can do besides be careful and go lightly over the heel?

PLEASE, be very careful. It can snap, a piece can fly, it can hit a body part or cut your finger.
What were you going to practice with it? I hope not shaving.
If it's honing then it will snap or tear all the way to the spine.
Your only bet it to grind away the part from the heel to the crack.

Thanked: 3I was going to use it for stropping and honing practice so I don't ruin the edge on the razor I will be shaving with. Thanks for the advice. I'll grind it down.

Thanked: 45A dremel drum sander bit would make that into a nice shoulderless blade.

Thanked: 3I think I might give that a try. I think I might have to rethink my half-hearted plan to partially restore this razor. Thanks for the suggestion.
