Thanked: 0Autosol
Not sure how many people have come across this product, but is commonly used in automotive industry for polishing of metals and steels, would it be suitable to use for polishing of a straight razor blade?

Yep, use it all the time. Abrasive enough to rip all your goldwash off but gentle enough as an overall polish & as a light tarnish remover.

Thanked: 0Neither of the razors have any goldwash anyway Just making sure it'll be ok to save me buying another polish when I have a tube of Autosol in the garage.

I've used Autosol for years at work and home. Works well with razors and actually with any metal to polish. It can be used with hands or electric tools.

In the UK it used to be called Solvol Autosol, made by the Solvolene Company. It's now just called Autosol. Every boy that ever had a bicycle or motorcycle is familiar with it. It works well on razors but it is an abrasive and takes off the gold wash.
