    Default Sanding roll

Here's a neat idea for you. I'm sure some of you guys, especially the jewelers are aware of these since they are available in supply catalogs.
First take a screw and cut off the head. Then cut a piece of sandpaper of what ever grit you want, ( emery paper is better ) and cut a strip about 8 or 10 inches long and an inch or so wide. Cut it to a point on one side. See pic. # 3. Then run a bead of glue, (I prefer epoxy ) along one edge about one eighth wide for the length of the strip, all the way out to the point. Then roll it up ( I use a 4 common nail to start it, and then pull the nail out.) Then put a squeeze type clothes pin on it till it dries. Thread it on the screw you just cut off and chuck it into a dremmel tool. Run it at a low speed in the direction it is wrapped. They are great for getting out pits, but be careful you do not cause dips in the metal. You can make these in any grit you want. Mack
