Also any Acrylic pen blanks would work for just slicing up for wedges for scales they WILL NOT work you cannot S T R E C H a pen blank into a scale blank they have to be 1x1x6 inch minimum...Last edited by gssixgun; 01-06-2010 at 09:37 PM.

I have been on a rampant search for horn and acrylics as well so far this is what I have found.
Polyester Pearl
Knife Making Supplies
Micarta, G10, Carbon Fiber : US Knife Makers!, Operated by a knifemaker for knifemakers!
Natural Materials
Synthetic Material
Berea Hardwood Acrylic Acetate Pen Blanks
I haven't been able to find out where Max gets his tortoise shell acrylic yet but someday I will .
Not all the links sell acrylics but your pretty creative so I thought you might see some potential in some of the materials. Hope this helps.

Wow, I phoned a sign shop here in Calgary and they quoted my for a 1/4" sheet of frosted acrylic $330. I know I can get it cheaper.
