Thanks! However, that's just 4 hours so far. Course this sucker was being a pain and breaking saw blades right, left, and sideways. I figure about another three hours cutting, and then about three hours engraving for this scale.
Projects like this one are like those 2500 piece puzzels. Work on them for a while then let them sit for a bit, then go back to it till your done.

Thanked: 530HOLY CROW!!! That's beautiful! (However, I liked the Celtic one you did better... those were astounding)
What are the odds that you sell your scales?

one down, one to go
I've got the interior filed, and sanded. The sanding at this size of work is a bit different. First tape the scale to a bench pin. Then cut wet/dry 400 grit sandpaper into strips 1/8" to 1/16" wide. Insert sandpaper into space and sand using an up and down motion.
Yes, it's about as tedious as it sounds, and no it's not my favorite part of this project.
I went ahead and put some black fill into the line to make the engraving show up better, and to also tell me where I need to carefully sand/buff the top surface to remove any excess scratches. (yeah, I missed a few spots. I'll get'em later. )
anyway, everyone have a wonderful weekend!
Cheers,
ps. current time count is 10hrs. on this project for those who where curious
