I shaved with a straight razor for the first time today. Most of my save was excellent (as in, best I have ever had).

Unfortunately, I knocked my razor against the faucet while washing it during my shave.

I can now hold the razor up to light, and I see a definite chink in the blade.

I have a Dovo 5/8ths razor. I am wondering:

1. If I should continue to shave with the blade
2. Whether I can repair the blade myself (I have the proper water stones, but I have never sharpened a knife before)
3. Whether I should have my blade repaired professionally. I know that www.classicshaving.com has a repair service.

Any comments would be very welcome.
