Getting started hand sanding this Genco. Pretty badly pitted on the spine, and a few spots on the surfaces, but the edge and belly are pretty clean. Virtually NO hone wear, and is starting to clean up pretty well. Has some staining on the back of the blade that is being a bit of a pill, not dark, but hard to remove. Possibly celluloid rot? Not sure. I will keep posting as I make progress. I am not planning to remove the pitting on the spine or blade, but to try to get a mirror finish everywhere else and leave the dark pitting. Well, that is the plan as of now, anyway.
