You can get pinning kits from here:

    Razor Scales & Pin kits

If you just want the rod, check this place out.

Or just google brass rod. Theres loads of suppliers out there.

When you cut your brass rod you probably flared out the end, you may need to file the rod down just a hair to get the washer started. If you use a normal pair of side cutters to cut the rod it will flare the end just a hair and make the washers hard to get over the end.

I use the 00 and I have had that same problem if you can get a set of flush cutters they seem to make a cleaner cut.

+ 1 on what was said by sbrouwers. Generally, when you snip the rod you will have a ^ looking tip. It helps to file that flat.

Ah, I see your problem now. You have the #00 size. The #0 size is the 1/16" size. #00 is closer to 1/20", so too small for a 1/16" rod....

You'll have to replace those #00 washers with the #0 size.
