I have a couple razors rescaled using the Classic Shaving selection of scales and they worked great and even included all the pins for the job.

    Classic Shaving
Straight Razor Maintenance & Repair Needs

If SRD or Classic Shaving don't have what you are looking for you can always contact a member to make you custom scales, you will most likely need to ship the razor to them. If you are interested in custom made scales go to Classifieds > Member Services and look for members that offer restoration or scales.

Robert Williams makes the scales SRD is selling. I bought a couple of them and they are first class and also include the hardware. Screws rather than pins so no worries with rivets or tightening.

Do you think the screws nice looking and sturdy? I've seen a few rescaled razors with the "adjustable" pins, but I'd imagine they might get loose/tight and need constant adjusting. Plus, I'm not sure about the look of those knobs...? Just my two cents.

Here is a photo of one razor with those scales. It is the same hardware that Robert and other custom makers use on their high end razors. No issues with loosening pins IME.

Just ordered two sets of their black ebony scales and a few pin sets. They are beautiful! They have a pretty good selection but i will say that the prices are mid-range to higher than some of the other places like classicshaving, etc. If you are to the point though that you are either trying to replace or restore a razor though, in my mind at least i felt that i wanted scales that not only looked nice but also were strong enough to last for at least a generation or two.

    Good luck!

How bad was shipping and handling from UK to US? Also what was the wait time? Thanks.

I'll have to look into that. The price isn't so bad if they include the shipping.
