Amazing coincedence. I also just bought a Case temperite off ebay and the scales between the third pin and the wedge are so bowed inward toward each other that there is no way the seller didn't know. I can close it but the tip of the blade bumps the wedge, and it takes a dangerous level of force to open the razor once closed. Any suggestions on how to reform these scales?

I am going to be experimenting with my scales over the course of the next few weeks, if you dont mind waiting for my results. As mangled as these scales seem to get (and you can certainly believe the sellers know how bad they are) I see no great loss if my experiments result in trashed scales. As far as I'm concerned, they already are!
