Finally got my legacy razor near completion. The only thing missing was to replace with scales with a set of Dovo ebony that came in the mail and refresh it's honing and viola...

The original celluloid scales never did fit right anyway but always figured it was warped scales. Sooo, I snapped the pivot pin and fitted up the new ebony scales. That's when my day went to hell. Just as I was feeding the pin through the pivot, the blade got free and swung around on the newly threaded pin and DING...hit the mini anvil right on the edge This dinged the blade about halfway through the edge sigh. Well, I guess I'll be honing it up anyway. So I closed the razor to set it aside for a couple hours so I could cool down...yeah, I was pretty hot at that point. When I closed the razor, the darned thing wouldn't fit right. Apparently great-grandad didn't have the forthought to check to see if the shank of his new razor was straight...I KNEW at that moment the reason why the celluloid scales weren't quite right.

It took me the better part of the rest of the afternoon to get everything honed out and ready to go again, but great-grandad's razor is back up and running
